Editorial Standards

Every review and guide on Heat Pump Reviews Site is researched, written and edited under the standards below. We publish them so you can hold us to them.

Independence

Editor picks are chosen on the strength of efficiency, climate fit, smart-home integration, install complexity and total cost of ownership — not on affiliate commission rates. We don’t accept payment for placement and we don’t change scores in response to commission changes. Where we earn a commission on a recommended product, we disclose it on the page and at the site level via our Affiliate Disclosure.

Sourcing

Every claim about efficiency, savings, noise or compatibility is sourced from manufacturer spec sheets, ENERGY STAR data, utility rebate filings, or our own measurements where applicable. Where a figure is an estimate (e.g. annual savings), we say so — and we explain the assumptions behind it.

Bylines and reviewers

Every review is signed by a named editor and reviewed by a second editor before publication. The byline is the person who wrote and stands behind the recommendation; the reviewer is the person who pressure-tested it.

Update cadence

Heat pumps are not a static product category. New models ship every year, rebate eligibility moves, refrigerant regulations shift, and pricing context changes. We revisit our editor picks and product database regularly and re-date pages when we update them.

Corrections

If we publish something inaccurate, we correct it, mark the correction visibly, and re-date the page. Reach us via Contact if you spot something.

What we won’t publish

Sponsored reviews disguised as editorial. Fabricated star ratings. Made-up prices. “Best of” lists that are really commission-ordered. Manufacturer copy lightly paraphrased. If you ever see something on our site that reads like that, please tell us so we can fix it.
