About
Heat Pump Reviews Site is an independent editorial resource for homeowners who want to upgrade their hot water and home-heating systems without wading through manufacturer marketing. We don’t manufacture or sell heat pumps — we test them, compare them and explain how they work, so you can pick the right system for your home, your climate and your utility bill.
Why heat pump water heaters
Heat pump water heaters typically use 60–70% less electricity than the standard electric resistance tanks they replace. For a family of four on a 17¢/kWh utility, that’s commonly $300–$500 a year in lower bills — and over a 10–15 year lifespan, that adds up to thousands. They also cut household carbon emissions meaningfully, and many qualify for federal IRA tax credits and state utility rebates. That’s why we built an entire publication around them.

How we work
Every review is researched, written and edited under our Editorial Standards, scored against our Methodology, and disclosed under our Affiliate Disclosure. Editor picks are chosen on the strength of the product — not on what commission they pay. When a new model ships or pricing context shifts, we revisit and re-date the review.
Who’s behind it
We are a small editorial team — researchers, writers and editors who have spent years inside energy efficiency, HVAC and smart-home coverage. We work with licensed installers when we need installation-specific guidance, but everything you read on this site is editorial, not professional installation advice. For binding installation or sizing decisions, talk to a qualified HVAC professional.
