What an affiliate link is
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer may pay us a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same either way — the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket.
Amazon Associates
Heat Pump Reviews Site is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
Which links earn a commission
Affiliate links appear mainly on retail products — DIY mini-split systems, heat pump water heaters and accessories that are sold online. Most whole-home ducted heat pumps are sold and installed through contractor networks and cannot be bought online, so links to those manufacturers are ordinary informational links that earn us nothing.

How independence is protected
Products are selected and scored under our published methodology before any commercial consideration. Commission rates play no part in whether a product is recommended or where it ranks. We regularly recommend products that earn us nothing, and we regularly criticise products that would earn us something. Our editorial policy sets out the rules in full.
Other revenue
We may also run display advertising. Advertisers have no input into editorial content and are not told in advance what we plan to publish.
